Broad Function and Purpose of Position:

The Director of Human Resources is primarily concerned with providing strategic advice, guidance, and leadership across all aspects of Human Resources within Automotive & Industry N. A. 

Reporting Line:  The position reports to the President, Automotive & Industry, Americas and has a dotted line reporting to Executive Vice President, Human Resources.

  • Partner with senior managers in organization to execute business plan 
  • Use data and actionable insights to further support and develop the business and the HR function
  • Oversee weekly timesheets/payroll for Eaton Rapids, Madison Heights, MI employees
  • Maintain accuracy and any updates to HRIS systems
  • Play an active role in supporting recruiting, on-boarding, development, and retention
  • Oversee the performance management and annual review processes
  • Play an active role in talent management and succession planning activities
  • Manage Human Resource Managers ensuring backup is provided when required
  • Participate in special projects, travel as needed, and perform other duties as required

Your expertise - Our strength

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or Psychology
  • Master’s degree a plus
  • HR Certification a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five to ten years of experience in progressive Human Resources roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five+ years in a HR management role.  
  • Experience with both union and non-union facilities is preferred.

TRAVEL

  • Up to 30% travel.
