Responsibilities & Opportunities

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible operation and growth of the Streetsboro, Ohio plant. As the second-in-command after the Plant Manager, this role involves developing and implementing programs to improve quality and productivity. The Production Manager also represents the company’s Vision within the Manufacturing Plant, fostering an environment of trust and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production, maintenance, engineering, shipping, and quality control to improve safety, quality, productivity, and growth.
  • Execute manufacturing plans aligned with budgets and capital spending goals.
  • Optimize resources to meet safety, cost, schedule, quality, and expense objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulations.  Investigate and document safety and environmental incidents with Plant/EHS Manager oversight.
  • Create a supportive environment that promotes employee involvement, empowerment, and collaboration.
  • Build a flexible organization capable of responding to changing customer needs.
  • Develop and implement long- and short-term plans to improve safety, efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Marketing during product development, scale-up, and launch.
  • Lead initiatives such as Sika Safe, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving teams to improve plant performance.
  • Monitor process instructions and quality checks to meet SOPs and ISO standards.
  • Train and develop factory associate(s) to ensure skilled personnel are available to meet demand.

Preferred Skills

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the chemical process industry or manufacturing, including supervisory experience.
  • A high school diploma is required; an associate degree, trade school degree, bachelor’s degree, or higher is a plus.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, characterized by clarity, sincerity, and persuasiveness.
  • Experience managing inventory and preventative maintenance is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and fostering collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and shift priorities as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Able to work effectively in a team-oriented organization using matrix management
