1. Implementation of EHS Management system:
- Implements, maintains and improves the EHS management systems effectively at MBSM (including third party warehouse, transporters or toll blender, wherever applicable) in accordance to corporate requirements, local and other requirements.
- Supports National Manager and Factory Managers in planning and securing milestone results.
- Collaborates with relevant parties for implementation and improvement at work processes / areas to meet defined EHS standards, including MBS Corporate and Country EHS requirements, Occupational Health & Safety, Crisis Management, Transport Distribution Safety, Chemical Regulations and Trade Control.
- Prepares and tracks EHS Monthly Performance reporting in a timely manner.
- Manage documentation of EHS, including updates of notices, memorandum and communication material.
2. Regulatory and Other Requirements’ Compliance:
- Maintains and updates legal registers, including Evaluation of Compliance, EASI, HIRARC, etc.
- Ensures EHS compliance & regulatory audits (internal and external) are performed and all incidents are investigated.
- Fulfils EHS internal and external reports, e.g. environment surveillance reports, hazardous waste reports, incident reports, chemical inventory reports, etc.
- Plans and implements EHS requirements from local authorities, e.g. fire drill, emergency response, occupational health and safety, environment protection, security threats, etc.
- Explores local regulations on chemicals and assists to update CIMS, GHS & SDS practices to meet compliance.
3. EHS Training and Culture Building:
- Prepares and coordinates annual EHS Training Plan and Engagement Programs.
- Conducts EHS orientation and trainings.
- Executes EHS promotion programs / campaigns.
- Compiles and submits all mandatory EHS performance reports to local authorities and local management as assigned.
4. EHS Operational Control:
- Prepares and supports internal and external EHS audit activities.
- Conducts daily EHS observation, workplace inspection and incident or accident investigation.
- Coordinates for identifying risks and aspects, hazard inherent, unsafe behaviors in existing and future operational processes.
- Implements counter measures; corrective and preventive actions to eliminate injuries, pollution, damages and losses related to defined hazards and impacts.
- Support sites to ensure the corrective implementation of Permit-To-Works (PTW).
- Coordinates and support Management of Change (MOC) implementation (scheduling and closure tracking).
- Prepares and assist in committee meeting (e.g. EHS Committee, CIMT, ERT, etc.).
- Assist in EHS yearly monitoring schedule and arrangement (LEV, Stack, Noise, Sewer/Drain, CHRA, CEM, Medical Surveillance, etc.), arrangement of EHS equipment maintenance & calibration (SCBA, Gas Detector, Rescue Equipment), compilation and communication to employees and contractors.
- Controls of PPEs, first aid and spill kit supplies including stock & purchases.
- Manages and maintains the EHS signages at sites (order and replacement when needed).
- Coordinates to follow-up the implementation of relevant EHS corrective and/or preventive actions with related internal / external stakeholders via SpheraCloud incident reporting and audit tracking system.
5. Emergency Response and Crisis Management
- Coordinates & supports to establish and build up competencies and readiness to deal with on/off site emergency events.
- Plans and coordinates simulated drill based on corporate and country requirements.
- Support on crisis management.
6. Any Other Matters (AOM)
- Any other tasks assigned from times to times.
The preferred candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Environment, Occupational Health or Safety, or Chemical Engineering field.
- Working experiences of at least 6 to 9 years’ experience in EHS scope and preferably in chemical manufacturing industry.
- Required language (s): Bahasa and English.
- Required skill: Computer skill, good interpersonal skill, good analytical & problem solving skills and teamwork oriented. Understand how the different KPI impact the Company overall.
- Knowledge of ERP system (e.g., Axapta Dynamics, SAP, etc.), Microsoft Office intermediate & advanced level (Excel, Power Point, Word) and digitalization skill.
- Technical sound EHS knowledge with EHS regulations and chemical laws, with hands-on experiences in manufacturing or oil & gas industry.
- Knowledge on international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Key competencies required: Striving for achievement; Customer focus; Communication and Interpersonal understanding; able to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Competent person as SHO in Malaysia. Added advantages if competent person certified by DG of DOE.
