  • To identify suppliers, benchmark prices, specifications, terms, and delivery dates to determine the best option for the business.  
  • To respond to internal and supplier inquiries, reviewing metrics, roadmaps, project plans, management reports, contracts, approve appropriate requisitions.  
  • To establish appropriate supplier performance; calculate the total cost of ownership.  
  • To establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and tracking of project materials that optimise quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria. 
  • To coordinate supplier selection, credit and terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation. 
  • To conduct research via the Internet, catalogues, trade publications, and trade shows to identify potential suppliers. Interview prospective suppliers either face-to-face or over the phone to determine prices, discounts, terms, etc.  Detail the comparisons of the vendor offerings for prospective suppliers to support management decisions. 
  • To prepare, maintain and review purchasing files and records, price lists, the status of contracts, locate suppliers, monitor subcontractor performance, calculate the cost of orders. 
  • To prepare procurement plans and ensure the plan is implemented throughout the materials, engineering, and warehouse teams including planning, purchasing, expediting, shipping, receipt and inspections, integration, and logistics. 
  • To develop plans for the effective organisation and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various company and/or independent warehouse locations. 
  • To optimise the material and supplier portfolio – that is what materials should be bought in bulk and consumed as needed, and which materials are best to acquire for specific projects. Establish stocking criteria for partners as well as their replenishment levels. 
  • To collaborate with management in the negotiation of contracts and lines of credit with suppliers and subcontractors when necessary. 
  • To prepare and communicate to the Sales, Sales Operations, Product Development, Product Marketing, and Product Management teams’ product directions, availability, lead times, model transitions, and cost roadmaps for key materials. 
  • To ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures of Sika Australia like Authority Limit Policy and Purchasing Policy and to lead all cost reduction efforts. 
  • The manager of procurement establishes the methodology for inventory quantities/buffer stocks for commonly used items to ensure they are sufficient for the needs of the company and adjusts as needed. 

Your expertise - Our strength

  • University graduate is preferred or a minimum two years proven experience in procurement/sourcing roles.
  • Significant experience in the chemical industry or hardware market with experience in procurement, logistics or project management.  
  • Strong systems and process knowledge, preferably SAP and Power BI.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An analytical mind and inclination for problem solving.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation at the highest degree of initiative and independence.
