This key position is part of the Regional EHSQ Department, with personal reporting to the Regional EHS Manager, and professional Report to the Head of Corporate Process Safety & Risk Assessment

• Collaborate with the global PS&RM function in implementing PS&RM within Sika

. • Ensures consistency and effectiveness of process safety and risk management in Region America

. • Monitor the status of PHA, Explosion Protection and Fire Prevention concepts within the region. • Exchanges experiences, develop and improve best practices in incident prevention

. • Ensures appropriate application of Sika methodologies. • Guides and supports assessment teams in proper risk evaluation and selection of appropriate safeguards. • Provides expert input to the development of safety concepts. • Provides process safety training in the Region.

• Participates in major process safety incident investigations and guides investigation team in determination of adequate corrective actions.

Your expertise - Our strength

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in chemical/safety engineering or industrial chemistry or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years in Operation Roles inside the chemical industry, preferably in Factories with potential for Major Incidents.
  • 2+ years as EHS Manager, PHA Facilitator, or PS&RM Engineer.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

  • Spanish is a plus.
  • HAZOP, HAZID, and Occupational Risk Assessment in the chemical industry.
  • Explosion Protection and Fire Prevention methodologies.
  • Emergency Management.
  • Basics in process automation, E&I Engineering, Safety Instrumented Function.
  • Thermodynamics, kinetic of chemical processes, Material Science.
  • Root cause analysis methodology.
  • OSHA Process Safety Management Regulation.
  • NFPA standards about industrial and chemical hazards.
  • Requires 50% traveling or as needed.
