Sika, a global leader in specialty chemicals, is seeking a highly skilled Packaging Procurement Category Manager to join our team in the EMEA region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives for the packaging category, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and sustainability.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for packaging materials, considering market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular supplier assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards, ethical practices, and sustainability goals.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with packaging suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and ensure seamless integration of packaging solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, global economic factors, and industry developments to anticipate potential impacts on the packaging procurement landscape.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging category, focusing on cost reduction, innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the effectiveness of packaging procurement strategies.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and ensure compliance across the supply chain.

Your expertise - Our strength

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and/or professional certifications are a plus.
  • Business, and Supply Chain Management skills are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Category Manager, with a focus on packaging materials, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, market dynamics, and industry trends.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English; fluent /conversational in German; Spanish or French is a plus.
  • Based in Stuttgart.
